Anti-Palestinian Racism and Antisemitism Workshop
An antiracist workshop to help you understand anti-Palestinian racism, antisemitism, and their intersections
Our mission:
To present an antiracist perspective and framework to groups and organizations that recognize the urgency of addressing anti-Palestinian racism and antisemitism alongside one another;
To create shared understanding of the history and current contexts of antisemitism and anti-Palestinian racism, not as competing or contradictory concepts, but as interlocking systems of oppression that reinforce one another;
To share our lived and professional expertise with participants who seek to become part of building a better future for all;
To build with our participants useful and applicable strategies that help them address anti-Palestinian racism and antisemitism when they encounter it.
What we cover:
-
Antiracist and intersectional framework
We see systems of oppressions as reinforcing and interlocking. We believe they must be addressed holistically and understood in relation to each other. We also hold ourselves to antiracism in theory and in practice. Our work seeks to dismantle systems of oppression and transform our society for the better.
-
Introduction to Anti-Palestinian Racism
We provide a working understanding of anti-Palestinian racism, by first discussing who Palestinians are, what APR looks like and how it manifests, what the consequences of unchecked anti-Palestinian racism lead to, and how participants can better support diasporic Palestinians in their communities.
-
Introduction to Antisemitism
We provide a working understanding of antisemitism, its history and current manifestations and antisemitic tropes. We also discuss what antisemitism is and what it isn't and how to apply an antiracist framework to understanding and combatting antisemitism.
-
Intersections between APR and Antisemitism
In this unique and transformative section of our training, Beisan and Rachel share personal experiences that have led them to understand anti-Palestinian racism and antisemitism, not as competing or oppositional forces, but as interlocking racisms that are best understood in tandem and within an antiracist framework.
-
Collective solidarity and allyship
We end our presentation with concrete and actionable steps for participants to become better allies on the subjects of APR and antisemitism by sharing strategies they can apply in different facets of their life, from feeling more confident engaging in courageous conversations, to applying pressure in their circles of influence to enact changes.
-
Conversations and Questions
We create space for questions and conversation, and in our training experience have found that this part of the training is often extremely helpful as participants can ask the questions that they have come to the training to unpack. We provide a safe venue for participants to better understand these concepts and are committed to treating these learning opportunities with grace and compassion.

The standard “introductory” joint training with Beisan and Rachel runs two hours, with the first ninety minutes allocated to engaging and informing the audience, and the final thirty minutes bookmarked for generative and respectful questions and conversation. We offer ourAPR and antisemitism joint trainings on group Zoom calls for audiences all across North America, and use Zoom tools like whiteboards, polls, and breakout rooms to provide added engagement. We recommend keeping Zoom groups to fewer than thirty participants to encourage participation.
If you are located in or around the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and have a venue that you would like to host us in, we are able to also provide in-person trainings for larger groups and leadership teams.
-
If you’d like us to build you a ‘bespoke’ training that covers the fundamentals of the standard training but provides more time and space for specific experiences or subjects, please let us know when you reach out and we can discuss options for individualized workshops.
-
To book a standard APR and antisemitism workshop, you will start with an exploratory call with Beisan and/or Rachel to ensure we are a good fit for you, then we will work to schedule a date or several dates, that work for you.
Attendees will be sent a baseline survey before the training and a feedback survey afterwards that will help you determine impact and next steps.
You will also be sent a copy of our slideshow along with a shareable PDF with links and resources that will help attendees continue their learning journey.
